Footnotes

"Two-piece upbeat emo band from Philadelphia. Formed in late 2008. Both members now play in the band Mallard along with ex/current members of Corcovado, Mumble, I Sing The Equator, and Broski. On July 13th, 2011 Footnotes played their last show in Easton, PA and has no plans to write or play shows in the future."

I don't really know much about the band themselves or where they are now but they played some great emo music reminiscent of any mid 2000's band at the time, I have a strong urge to compare their sound to something like that of a early pop punk band like knuckle punk esqe or maybe CapnJazz or Merchant Ships.... either way worthy of a listen and after listening yourselves you can tell me if my ears are broken or not , anyway,  I might go back and do some of their future band mates projects like I Sing the Equator or Corcovado

I've compiled their discog, which is  only 2 releases; the "Everything Last Year" album and the "Summer Shit EP" as far as I know this is the only releases done under this bands name and im pretty sure they were released sometime around 2009-2010 but I can't tell which one came first, either way here for your listening pleasure is Footnotes

The I in Irony / Floral Tattoo split

"In 2015, Alex Anderson (drummer of Woodinville sludge metal project Darkmysticwoods) decided it was time for a change of pace. They started writing material based on their love for music like AJJ, Joyce Manor, and Bomb The Music Industry!, combining a confessional and heartbreaking lyrical style with the punk stylings of their teenage years. They began playing as Floral Tattoo, naming themselves after a Spotify playlist of a friend's. After leaving the Seattle area and moving to Chico, CA, they continued to write and play shows as Floral Tattoo, eventually moving back to Washington. They then formed a full-electric Floral Tattoo band - featuring Nico Pellowski on bass, Christian Taylor on drums, and Gwen Power as a multi-instrumentalist. The songs became augmented in a way they never had before, combining the previous songs with emo, dream pop, and shoegaze influence. They would record their debut album, "Approaching Bearable", in the late fall of 2017 and release it the following March.

I don't have much information or a write up on Dan, except that he's a kind talented person and still continues to make music now, you can support him here

This post is gonna be a strange one. I was going through some old Cds for things to share and I came across this split of The I in Irony / Floral Tattoo, I don't remember much about this CD except that I had enjoyed it decided to preserve it in my "special" CD collection. If I'm remembering correctly I met Dan ( The I in Irony) as he was touring through the west coast with I think Stick and Poke (another well known folk punk band), the important part to note was that Floral Tattoo wasn't on the bill, I remember there being a grand total of about six? people in the audience and I might have some photos if I look particularly hard, on an old hard drive; regardless the bands played a great show and I don't even remember having to pay admission as I was one of the few there, I had asked dan if he had any merch so I could help support him on the tour to which he said he had none, but he did have some CDs that he and i'm assuming a friend (possibly floral tattoo) did the artwork for themselves, I distinctly remember buying about 5? CDs as he was selling them cheap (Whooo DIY!) and I had also thought it was cool how they all had different designs making them each unique and exclusive, but for some reason I could only find 2 of the 5 which i'm including as alternate album art if you're into that kinda thing, I also don't see this CD listed anywhere for sale so maybe I have the only ones? who knows. long story short it's some good ol' folk punk if you needed something new to listen to instead of AJJ or the Ramshackle Glory.
