About A Million

About A Million hails from the tiny city of Coatesville, PA. To say this band is unique would be putting it lightly, there are so many things going on in this band it's hard to pick a place to start; To start I feel like I should mention that this is a family band. Family bands aren't all too common when thinking about songs of this style. I'd compare them to something like twee, jangle with a mix of Alex G. and garage.

Going back to the family band point, this band consists of the Leitch siblings, the siblings being.

Scotty Leitch, Anthony Leitch, Kyle Leitch & Jessica Leitch. some of these names might sound familiar, primarily Anthony and Scotty due to their other side projects. Scotty has been featured on my blog before under the band "Pirouette" but is now better known as "Shelf Life". If you haven't yet listened to Pirouette I recommend you do so ASAP.

The "albums" I'm sharing today I forgot I had and can't find anything about them online at all, nothing, 0, zip, nada. The reason why I call these songs "albums" is because I would consider these more of something like home recordings and demos more than full fledged albums, these don't even have album art or lyrics which is why I'm borrowing the photos from the bands facebook which also does not have much info about that band but I digress.

as well as not knowing much about the recordings or having album art / lyrics, I also don't have any release dates for any of these albums but I'm guessing maybe around 2003/4? sometime before pirouette but I could be wrong entirely. Regardless I hope you enjoy these long lost tracks.

Wavelets

Wavelets is a band from Gainesville, Florida.
Ryan Willems (bass), Lee Kraft (drums), Steven Gray (vocals), Scott 'Tang' Carr, Luke Moses
You might recognize some of these names as band members of other bands in the same era of music, these guys were prevalent in making music and it shows in the different bands they've been in. The most notable of these bands (I would say) is Dikembe which is still going strong nearly 20 years into their lifespan, Send away stranger is more sonically sounding to wavelets in my opinion though.

This band played a unique emo sounds the sounds of which you probably like if you've found my blog, twinkly methodical emo sounds galore

They've released several demos and singles as well as splits most of which have been compiled in "Athaletics", with the exclusion of very few tracks, namely those being their "Cuss words" demo written only 3 days into the existence of the band, and also "Random acts of Grindness" which was a song originally meant to be on the official release of "Curse Words" but was left out. I'm really happy to be sharing these again with the world.

side note: I've found the original artwork for the cusswords EP but haven't been able to find any album art for RAOG, so I'll be using a filler photo.

Wolf Pacts

"Wolf Pacts formed in late 2010 in Palmerston North, they consisted of Dion (Sets of 57) on drums, Alex (Mega Sneak) On Vocals and Jake on Bass. They played fast and noisey party songs, released a demo and played a few handfuls of shows before splitting amongst a large amount of small town drama."

- Last.FM

Not much out there about this band but they played a fuzzy garage punk sound with low quality recordings, sounds like a lot of the mid 2000's DIY stuff that people are after, so give it a listen.

Aww James

Aww James is a punk rock band from Phillipsburg New Jersey, created in late 2004 By brothers Joe and Brian who then later added Ryan and Todd, from all I can tell apparently there was some bad blood between the members of the band which had Brian leaving and being replaced very early in the band's existence. From all I can gather, this is their only CD release, the other music being demos from the now defunct PureVolume site (IYKYK)

so for the first time in a very long time, here's AWW JAMES

st. geme

I have nothing to say about this band, I have 0 band history, about any previous or music that followed after this EP

with that out of the way

St. Geme  formed around 2008 in Hollister / Monterey, Califronia (information from LastFM)

beyond that the musicians are as follows

Michael Glines

Alaina Musich

Brett Nickel

Zachary McPherson

and

Andy Snyder

who are now later in other musical projects, Alaina is a piano teacher as well as a solo artist, michael and brett played together in Sugar Sauce around 2014 / 15

as for Zachary and Andy I haven't found anything concrete on them currently

as for their sound for this album I'd say it's a mixture of indie alternative with some emo? undertones, I know I am not describing that properly but it's a blend of all three, something at first I wasn't sure if i was going to add to this blog as it might not have fit the somewhat theme I have of alternative and emo music, but after a couple of listens (only 4 songs) , I could tell that it deserves a place here

I don't know much about this band in all honesty except for the fact that I'm missing nearly their entire discog, so if anyone wants to help me out with that that would be dope.

this is some mid 2000's screamo hardcore that was peak myspace material, def worth a listen.

The Old Guard (MA)

(Now named Dry Spell) A Worcester, MA pop-punk band composed of vocalist Tom Rayder, Guitarists Xavier Mauprivez and Andrew Ollerhead, bassist Zach Sullivan, and drummer Matt Noyes

- LastFM

not gonna lie, I don't know much about this band besides the fact that they were around as TOG from at least 2009 to 2013 after which they changed their name to Dry Spell, I saw on their FB that they have an acoustic EP but I can't find it. if anyone has it lmk

this EP according to my metadata was released in 2009 unsure if that's true; as for sound they sound like a mellow garage / pop punk band kinda like a more rock version of Pants Yell! or something, maybe i'm off in that judgment and you all would like to listen yourselves
